An attraction to round objects, whether alive, inanimate or never alive came about organically. Why was I drawn to these objects –this shape? Round, ring, orbit, connected, circle, system, strength, whole, nurture, feed, earth, planet, explore, eye, see, look, lens. These are some words that come to mind when I think about this shape; they are comforting to me; they are heartening. My devotion to capture these objects in tintype strengthens as my expectation with such commonplace and familiar objects gets shaken up. It requires me to look slower. This exploration expanded naturally to include not just the round, but any remarkable and unremarkable thing, uncovering its inherent beauty, its splendor.
