The nature of wet plate collodion requires that one succumb a certain amount of control over to the gods of alchemy. The elements, maturity of chemistry and of subject all come into play. It is a game, a testament of patience and control. The subjects merge with my process, nourishing any loss of control I may feel, cultivating an emotion I am not always prepared to face but which i quickly become enamored.
